Sol-Ark battery compatibility lookup
Search a focused starter index of inverter and battery pairings documented by Sol-Ark and battery manufacturers. Review the evidence category, stated setup conditions, and source documents for each result.
This index covers only the linked sources. Compatibility can depend on exact model, voltage class, communication method, firmware, and manufacturer instructions. An undocumented pairing is Unknown / not documented in these sources; that does not establish incompatibility. This reference is not an installation approval and does not replace the inverter or battery manufacturer’s instructions.
Communication and conditions
Method: CANBus
Cable: No custom cable is required; use a standard RJ45 cable for the outdoor inverter CANBus connection.
- Connect the battery CAN connection to the Sol-Ark Battery CANBus port on the outdoor-rated inverter.
- Enable BMS Lithium Batt and set it to 00.
- Briggs & Stratton’s AmpliPHI Sol-Ark guide names the Sol-Ark 8K; it does not establish a broader model scope here.
Firmware: Sol-Ark Rev. 7 recommends inverter firmware C 1.4.5.2 or later for CANBus communication reliability.

Communication and conditions
Method: CANBus closed-loop communication
Cable: Sol-Ark Rev. 7 marks a custom cable as required for Fortress; follow its eFlex Max pinout and Fortress cable guidance.
- Enable BMS Lithium Batt and set it to 00 after selecting the documented eFlex Max CAN protocol.
- Fortress says charge and discharge current settings must stay within the inverter rating; its Sol-Ark 12K example caps both at 185A.
- Fortress documents “Sol-Ark 12K” without a submodel suffix, so this entry preserves that stated scope.
Firmware: Sol-Ark Rev. 7 recommends inverter firmware C 1.4.5.2 or later for CANBus communication reliability.

Communication and conditions
Method: CANBus
Cable: Use the 6.6/Sol-Ark crossover cable specified in the Sol-Ark guide.
- Connect the battery controller CAN port through the 6.6/Sol-Ark crossover cable.
- Enable BMS Lithium Batt, set it to 00, and select Activate Battery as directed by Sol-Ark.
- Briggs & Stratton documents a Sol-Ark 15K package with SimpliPHI 6.6 batteries; the exact 15K suffix is not stated in that package article.
Firmware: Sol-Ark Rev. 7 recommends inverter firmware C 1.4.5.2 or later for CANBus communication reliability.
